5 Week Online Healthy Children's Makeover Course!
I have taken my 12 Week Online Lifestyle Makeover Course and tailored a few of the modules specific to children and their particular needs today.
Have you noticed how so many children these days are suffering from allergies, ADD/ADHD, nasty skin conditions, asthma, obesity and a whole range of other ailments. Not least of all lack of concentration or being able to just be "still" for a while!
It is my FIRM belief that all of these ailments are either caused by or remedied by the childs lifestyle. Mostly in the form of diet, exercise and giving them a toxin free environment in which to thrive.
When Julie Eady of Additive Alert fame states that the average Australian consumes upward of 5kgs of additives alone in a year, and our children follow our diet, that alone should give you cause to be alarmed.
The course I have devised is an online private Facebook course, fully interactive and supportive for the whole 5 weeks and thereafter. You will never be alone once you've completed this course!
Week 1: It's All About The Kids!
We look at children's special needs ranging from diet, exercise, emotional wellbeing, routine and (dare I say it!) discipline, toxins in the home and how all of this is affecting their overall health.
Week 2: Food!
This is such a huge topic I have had to break it down into two weeks. This week concentrates on how the food as you once knew it has changed so much, how those changes affect you and your children and what you can do to change those changes!
Week 3: On The Hunt for Additives!
The additives in food today have been blamed for such ailments as ADD type symtpoms, irritability, inability to concentrate, poor skin conditions such as rashes and sores, asthma, allergies, digestive issues and a whole host more. I show you how to spot them, read nutrition panels and ingredient lists and how to avoid the baddies!
Week 4: Detox Your Cupboards!
You will be surprised just how toxic some of the things you may be using on your children can be for them. Petrochemicals in baby products and childrens products are causing all sorts of unpleasant side effects, mainly in relation to skin diseases and lung function.
Week 5: Alternative Therapies and Medicines!
Do you really want to be shoving antibiotics, medicines, pain killers, steroid creams and a whole range of other unsavoury items in and on your children? In this module we look at some safe and softer alternative therapies and remedies.
Course starts Friday 9th September. Remember, it's online so no babysitters or annoying appointment times to keep! Oh, and if you need testimonials please check my testimonials page on this site. They're from the 12 Week Course but the same sort of process applies! Having said that, there is one special testimonial I would like to add here now.
TESTIMONIAL!
My
kids ate fast food for dinner everynight for a very long time. Thanks
to that they had a very limited selection of food they would eat.
One
day over a pot of tea i was telling Trace how frustrated I was and how
hard my kids were and how horrible meal times were. She had a few
simple suggestions for me:
get them involved in the cooking process (are you kidding - I am busy making dinner I thought to myself)
let them wash the veg, chop it up, hold a knife (yeah right - my kids with a knife?!)
make
dinner fun, she explained a few games she played with her boys to
encourage them to eat (does this woman not know how busy I am)
Anyway,
desperate to try anything I tried it one night. So my two pulled up
chairs to stand on in the kitchen and I gave them a chopping board and a
knife each and some veg to cut - while we were chopping I told them
about all the good stuff that was in the food they were preparing and
how it would help their bodies. They chopped up everything for a salad.
No injuries, no fighting - it was pretty fun.
That night for the first time EVER they both ate capsicum without the fake vomiting, tears or tantrums - just like that! Then
the penny dropped for me. I was busy being "busy". I am lucky enough
to have a career that only needs my attention a few hours a day - so I
have time to plan food. And thats all it needed.
A plan, getting them involved and making it fun -
Now
instead of peanut butter on white taost and a cup of tea for breakfast
- they have wholemeal (homebaked) bread, and scrambled eggs with a
fruit kebab or oats with a side of (homemade) yoghurt.
Their lunch
boxes have NOOOOO pre packaged anything - I love to bake - and I love
Jessica Seinfelds book of hiding veg - so I know that even in their cup
cakes there is carrot and zucchini nourishing them
Dinner time is mostly a team effort - from ONLY eating chicken nuggets and chips they are eating stir fry's, soup, roast veg!!
It
takes patience. It takes actually "being with" them, not zoning out.
This has been such a big change for them and me - and for the first time
in my life I feel like I am being a MUM!
And thats my story....
